I was given this this as a mother's day gift. How adorable! We did the first attempt with warmer water than it suggested, it hardened before we could put our hands in it. Major fail! Very upset so I reached out to Amazon and was able to get another for free. Thank you Amazon!!! Second attempt we followed the directions to a tee. Used correct water temp and it went exactly as planned. We put oil on our hands even though it didn't say that but it was suggested by others. Left our hands in for 6 minutes. Removed our hands one at a time slowly. That was hard to do, my husband had to basically wiggle our arms up for us lol. We let the mold sit for 4 hours exactly. Then we had a really hard time getting it out of the bucket. We decided to go with a base using all of the liquid and it was not coming out. We had to run a knife around the edges for a while until it came lose. We flipped it upside down and it came out. We have a picture of it out looking smooth and shiny like an upside down bucket. We removed the outer mold gently to reveal the long awaited results. It turned out perfectly except tons (I mean tons!!!!) of little dots all over our hands. You can see in picture. We did everything it said to avoid air bubbles...but these are like hard bubbles....why!?!? My husband tediously scraped them away and it looks great now. There are a few small air bubbles but minimal. We made sure to tap and do all the tricks to not have bubbles but I guess they are unavoidable sometimes. Overall, it's a cool idea and turned out great. I will cherish this for many years and I love that I could have my daughters 8 year old hand forever in mine. Great size, great color, excellent value for money. Highly recommend and follow the directions perfectly!!!!!!!!UPDATE: I had it sit for 6 days as it says to let it set and then u are supposed to seal it.....well I went to look at it after 6 days and it was molded!!!! Omg how gross!! Also, why don't they provide a sealant!?!? I decided to spray paint it to seal it and hide the mold. It was literally white with black mold spots all over it!! What is the heck!? I am taking a star away....
This gift was so cute me and my husband made it together on Valentine’s Day. It was very easy to do. The only thing I would recommend is not wearing rings. The mold material got inside of one of my wedding rings, and it caused my finger to break out. So just make sure you clean your rings or don’t wear any if you’re making it.
Bought this for my mom and I to do on a girls weekend trip. We live far away but are best friends! Several things went wrong but alas, it turned out beautifully!!!!Some tips: use extra drop cloths for your work stations; watch the video; shorthand the directions so you aren't overwhelmed; use all disposable wisks and bowls; don't be afraid to really get into the crevices and clean it up; have fun!We read the directions three times each, watched the video, and also wrote down our own shorthand directions. We didn't have an extra person to help us, so having the short hand directions with us was helpful so we didn't have to keep watching the video or reading the directions. It really isn't difficult; the directions are just extremely thorough which can seem intimidating!We were staying at an Airbnb so we used distilled water which we kept in the fridge until we were ready.We had the idea of holding a heart-shaped stone together, but ended up deciding the stone was too small to be visible in the final sculpture. So we decided to put the heart shaped stone in the actual plaster as we poured. We waited until the mold was filled about 2/3 with plaster and made sure it was startkng to firm before adding the crystal. We didn't want it sinking to the bottom!Several things went wrong in the process, all preventable, all user error. We laid down extra plastic dollar store tablecloths to protect the ground. Boy, are we lucky we did that! While swirling the plaster around in our mold, I accidentally let the mold slide right out of the bucket!!!!!! The directions literally warns you this can happen, hahaha. HOWEVER!! Thankfully, after bouncing three feet along the ground, the mold was perfectly fine!!!!!But then! As I diligently poured the plaster, my foot accidentally kicked over the bucket containing our wet plaster! Thankfully we were able to salvage it by picking up the tarp it spilled on, and pouring it back into the bucket.Once the plaster was set and ready to be cleaned up, there were quite a few air bubbles. I'm sure this is also avoidable, but I really enjoyed deep cleaning the sculpture and making it perfect. I also had a bit longer nails that didn't cast well. I didn't think it would be an issue, but apparently it was, haha. My rings casted beautifully though and although I would've loved for my mom to wear her wedding rings, she was worried about them not casting well.We made some mistakes along the way, but overall enjoyed the process and I would definitely do this again!!!!! Plus, one day if the sculpture were to break, we'll still have the heart shaped crystal that's inside.
This was a hit at my daughter's bridal shower. She loved that is such a personal gift that she and her new husband could share together and something that would last a lifetime. Thank you for such a unique gift idea.

Bought for our anniversary, and it has been a fun little project to do together. Directions were easy to follow. It was a little bit to get mold cleaned off but if you like some of that fine work it is kinda relaxing and fun. We are going to put a clearcoat on it, and wood mount so it is more polished. Just make sure who ever you do this with you don't mind holding their hand for 5-6 min, and the bucket is at a comfortable height.

I ordered this to make casting of my sister and my feet interlocking our toes (gross I know but it was a gag gift for my mom who hates feet). It came out PERFECTLY!! The kit includes pretty much everything you need and it was a relatively clean process. My only warning I will give is when you’re trying to shake the powder down to the bottom of the bag to open it DONT slap it off of your legs…the bottom will blow out and you will have powder everywhere lol. That was my own user error though so I don’t think that is worth judging the product on. Aside from that it turned out amazing and was a pretty straightforward process.
